Pattern + Texture

What is Pattern + Texture?

Texture is the tactile or visual surface quality of a material: rough, smooth, fragile, layered. Pattern is the repetition or disruption of form across space: ordered or broken, rhythmic or erratic. Together, they support the emotional and symbolic language of a work.
