  1. Hi Nikki! I am finally realizing summer is over and I am digging into your wonderful Art-Ed Hub. What fantastic work you have done!! I am so impressed. I am so glad I visited you last year so I also got a chance to see your students working with the first projects ( the montages, indentity &self) Never before have I used someone else’s planning but this time I will definitely try to ..the best way I can with my own interpretations so I can handle it:) I think I have to take it step by step and learn as I go along. It feels so supportive with you and all this material you have done, now It´s up to me to deliver it to students.) I hope we meet again soon! Take care / many hugs from Ulrika

    1. Hi Ulrika! I’ve only just seen your beautiful message and I need to apologise for the delay! Until recently I didn’t realise that, as the site manager, I wasn’t showing up as a “member” myself — which meant I completely missed the comments being posted. I’m so sorry if it looked like I wasn’t responding.
Your words mean a lot. It makes me so happy to hear that you’re diving into the Hub and finding ways to adapt the projects in your own style;that’s exactly how I hoped the material would live and breathe in classrooms. And I love that you got to see the montages and identity/self projects in action with my students last year; they still come up in conversations here.
Let’s definitely keep in touch and I hope we meet again soon. Wishing you a smooth and inspiring start to term!
      Many hugs back, Nikki

  2. Hey Nikki, thank you for the great Unit 1( expressing the inner and outer self), I just have problems with opening the two Activities (Symbolism+Equivalence and Montage +Identity). I cannot open them can you please help. Thank you!

    1. I’m so sorry for the delay in replying! I’ve only just realised that, as the site manager, I wasn’t showing up as a “member” myself which meant I completely missed seeing these comments. Big apologies for that!
Thank you for flagging the access issue. I’ve already alerted my designer and it’s being sorted. I’m emailing them to you now too!
Really glad to hear you’re working with Unit 1 already; brilliant!
      Warmly, Nikki

  3. This is immensely helpful and a huge amount of work. As my students all have some prior experience in art from upper MYP4/5, I would skip some of the technical explorations (eg. grid method, which they know well) though they will certainly be spending the first 2 months developing their technical skills, experimenting with media and pushing the boundaries of what they already know. The timings and pacing is very useful. I will likely use much of the structure for year 2. Thank you!

    1. Hi Jane,
Oh my goodness, I’ve only just seen this now! I hadn’t realised that, as the site manager, I wasn’t showing up as a “member” myself, which meant I completely missed comments coming in. So sorry for the late reply.
Your message honestly made my day. I love how you’re shaping the material to fit your students’ experience; skipping what they already know and diving straight into pushing boundaries sounds spot on. And I’m really glad the structure is useful for Year 2 as well.
It means so much to me that you’re using the Hub and giving this kind of thoughtful feedback.
      Hugs from Norway, Nikki

Hi there,

Thanks for signing up! It’s lovely to have you here.

Art-Ed Hub is more than just a resource bank; it’s a growing space for creative inquiry, thoughtful teaching, and the kind of soulful exploration that often gets lost in the rush of curriculum and outcomes. Whether you’re here for the IB Visual Arts support, the creative prompts, or just a bit of inspiration, I hope you find something that resonates.

Every now and then, I’ll drop into your inbox with new resources, reflections, or behind-the-scenes updates. Nothing overwhelming, just things I genuinely think are worth sharing.

Warm wishes,
Nikki
